Online EMDR
I provide EMDR therapy online, serving clients throughout California, Nevada, and Idaho. My practice is based in Sacramento, and I continue to welcome clients from Carlsbad and across San Diego County.

Sleep feels impossible. And on the nights when you can sleep, the nightmares sometimes make you wish you hadn’t. You move through the day feeling detached, numb, or carrying a heaviness that no one else can see. A part of you might even wonder if you’ll ever be free from what happened.
Flashbacks come out of nowhere. Memories push their way in when you least expect them. You do your best not to think about it, to push it down, but it lingers. Sometimes shame shows up too—like maybe it was your fault, or like saying it out loud would somehow make it more real. So you keep it tucked away, wishing the past would stay in the past.
But here’s the truth: what happened to you does not have to define you. Healing is possible.
When PTSD Symptoms Start Increasing

Lately, it feels like the past won’t stay quiet.
Things people say, posts you scroll past, news headlines, even casual conversations—it’s like the world keeps finding ways to bring it all back up.
Triggers that never used to register suddenly have weight. You notice your body tense, your mind race, and the old memories rush in stronger than before.
It can feel confusing—why now? Why is this happening when you’ve worked so hard to move on?
It’s Time to Heal From What You Survived
The memories won’t leave you alone. You catch yourself wondering if people can somehow see what happened to you—if they knew, maybe they’d see you as damaged or broken.
The weight of it all makes it hard to step fully into who you want to be. Deep down, you know that with the right support you could feel lighter, freer, more whole—but the path forward feels unclear. Where do you even begin?
You want to move beyond surviving. You want to thrive.
Maybe You’ve Already Tried
It’s possible you’ve sat in therapy before and left feeling unchanged. That can be discouraging.
When the pain feels like it’s scattered you into pieces, it’s hard to imagine finding your way back to yourself.
But healing isn’t about forcing the pieces to fit—it’s about creating a safe space where your mind and body can start to reconnect and repair.

EMDR Therapy Can Help
I’m Dr. Cassandra Cannon, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, and I specialize in EMDR therapy for complex trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
One of the images that inspires my work is the Japanese art form of Kintsugi. When a piece of pottery breaks, artists don’t throw it away. Instead, they repair the cracks with a lacquer mixed with gold or silver. The breaks don’t disappear—they become part of the design, adding beauty, strength, and history to the piece.
That’s how I see healing from trauma. You may feel like you’ve been shattered, like the pieces of you can’t possibly fit back together. But EMDR offers a way to gently reconnect those parts, not by hiding your history, but by honoring it.
Together, we can help you see your past not as a source of shame, but as part of your story—a story that reveals your resilience, your courage, and your worth. What once felt like “flaws” can become reminders of strength. And like Kintsugi, you can emerge not only whole again, but more valuable because of all that you’ve overcome.
Take the First Step
You don’t have to carry this alone anymore. Trauma can feel isolating, but healing happens in connection. With the right support, you can move from surviving to truly living.
If you’re ready to explore EMDR therapy, I invite you to reach out. Let’s begin the process of stitching your story back together in a way that feels safe, empowering, and hopeful.
